Justin Staggard

AILA Registered Landscape Architect

Within the field of landscape architecture, Justin has worked on projects covering urban development, public infrastructure and recreational areas including playspaces and educational spaces. He has also worked on residential designs. As part of his growing experience, he has also been a regular lecturer and tutor at RMIT University within the Landscape Architecture course for the past seven years and is able to most effectively share his knowledge with students.

Justin has comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, place making and playspaces, from conceptual design, design development, documentation, contract administration, master planning, children’s and community consultation. He demonstrates strong design principles and a high calibre of technical understanding.

For some years, Justin worked in local government and has continued working for local councils on playspace projects, master plans, design guidelines and public spaces.

John McDill

Urban planning & design

Since starting an urban planning and design consultancy in Melbourne Australia in 1987 the writer has undertaken an extensive range of assignments for private clients.Assignments typically include determining development potential of sites, securing development approvals, advocacy at planning hearings, due diligence investigations, and problem-solving for all types of land development proposals.

Previously, as a qualified town planner and civil engineer the writer worked with the State Government of Victoria in various positions dealing with planning and transportation, including senior planning advisor to the Minister for Planning. In that role he provided technical advice to successive government ministers on major development projects in central Melbourne and was principal author of a major review of planning controls for the Melbourne central city.

With a background in civil and traffic engineering and urban planning, John is able to bring a wide perspective to multi-dimensional urban planning issues.

Robert Peter Thomson

Landscape Designer and VCAT expert

Design of landscapes for dual and multiple occupancy residential and commercial/industrial projects throughout metropolitan and regional areas.

Experience in construction of residential, commercial and local government landscape projects. Specialise in design for and assessment of multiple occupancy residential developments and industrial development.

Alison Watson

Green facade / roof top garden expert

Alison Watson has completed a Specialist Certificate in Green Roofs and Walls and a Post Graduate Certificate in Garden Design at Melbourne University, Burnley Campus.

She completed a Bachelor of Arts at UCT and has qualified as a Home Sustainability Assessor and FirstRate 5 Energy Rating Assessor (Holmesglen TAFE). Alison has also represented a wholesale nursery who grow heritage and hard-to-find varieties for the Melbourne Metro Area.

Using the above skills Alison can design landscapes, gardens and urban spaces to fulfil a client’s brief which lead to the feel good factor and also incorporate a sustainable and practical edge.

Plants and planting the right plant for the right place are her passion.
